The Legend: From Russia to the Atlantic Wall
This isn’t your average field gun. This genuine antique was manufactured in Russia in 1927 and remains in its original 76.2mm calibre. Its history is as explosive as its shell:
- Soviet Roots: Known officially as the 76 mm regimental gun M1927 (Russian: 76-мм полковая пушка обр. 1927 г.), it was developed by the Orudiyno-Arsenalny Trest (OAT).
- A Rare Survivor: While 16,482 were built, only 4,708 were left in the Red Army by the start of Operation Barbarossa in 1941.
- The Prize of War: Captured in massive numbers, these guns were turned against their makers. The Finnish Army called them the 76 RK/27, while the Germans re-designated them as the 7.62 cm Infanteriekanonehaubitze 290(r).
- D-Day History: This exact type of gun formed a vital part of the German Atlantic Wall defences in Normandy. You can still find examples of this cannon today at the famous Maisey Battery.
What You’ll Be Operating
Originally designed for the destruction of light fortifications and personnel through direct fire, and even equipped with heat shells for anti-tank combat, this gun is a masterclass in 1920s engineering.
The Experience Includes:
- The Winner: will be part of the gun team operating the Noon Day Gun and will fire the salute.
- Expert Training: Full instruction from our professional Armoury Team.
- Safety First: All necessary safety equipment is provided.
